M5 remains partially closed following two-lorry crash

Part of the M5 remains closed northbound this morning following a serious crash involving two lorries. It happened at around 9pm on Monday between junctions 26 and 25 at Taunton. One of the lorries involved appeared to have overturned in an embankment off the motorway.

Emergency services were called to the scene, with one lane of the motorway remaining shut this morning due to recovery work and resfurfacing.

Highways England reopened lanes two and three at 7am, but lane one will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

Traffic website Inrix says diesel had split onto the road following the collision.
