Teenage biker, 17, injured following crash with HGV on Stoke-on-Trent road

A teenage biker has suffered a leg injury following a collision with a heavy goods vehicle. The emergency services raced to King Street, in Fenton, close to the junction of China Street, at around 7.40am today (September 12). The biker, aged 17, is being treated by medics.

But motorists are being told to avoid the area. A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We were called at 7.50am this morning to King Street in Fenton following reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a HGV. “Police are at the scene alongside colleagues from the ambulance service.

A 17-year-old boy is currently receiving treatment for a leg injury. “The road is partially blocked so motorists are urged to find an alternative route if possible.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed one crew were sent to the scene.

A spokesman said: “We were called at 7.41am to reports of a collision betweena motorbike and HGV at the junction of King Street and China Street. “One ambulance is in attendance. We are treating one patient, the motorcyclist, a male.”
