A25 accident near Dorking involving head-on crash to see road closed into afternoon

The A25 near Dorking is likely to remain closed into the afternoon following a serious two-vehicle crash. The accident between a Mercedes Sprinter van and a Ford Fiesta Zetec occurred at around 6.25am at the Westcott section of the A25 on Monday morning (October 28). The vehicles appear to have collided head-on.

The road remained closed in both directions as of 11.45am between the junctions of Station Road, near Dorking town centre, and Broomfield Park, in Westcott. Surrey Police investigators remain on the scene and both of the vehicles involved, the green van and the dark blue car, have suffered severe front-end damage. Multiple police vehicles remain on the scene and a recovery truck has begun removing them.

A statement from Surrey Police reads: “We’re appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the A25 near Westcott earlier this morning (October 28). “Officers were called to the collision, involving a Mercedes Sprinter van and a Ford Fiesta Zetec at around 6.25am. The road is likely to remain closed in both directions for the next couple of hours while we deal with the incident.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision, or with any information which could assist our enquiries, is asked to contact us on 101, quoting incident reference PR/P19249676.”
