A39 closed after lorry crashes off road

The A39 has been closed in both directions between Truro and Playing Place, after a lorry crashed and left the road. Roads and traffic monitoring service Inrix first reported the incident, on the main route to Penryn and Falmouth, at 11.17am. Inrix alert reads:  "A39 in both directions closed due to accident, a lorry which has left the road involved from A390 Arch Hill (Truro) to Old Coach Road (Playing Place).

Affecting traffic between Arch Hill and Truro." It's not year clear if any other vehicle are involved - or if anybody has injured. However, we're contacting the police for more details.

Scroll down for updates as we get them. The crash is the latest incident to cause delays on Cornwall's roads this morning. A broken down vehicle - initially reported as a police incident - is causing long delays on the A30 near Bodmin.

And, earlier this morning, a road was closed after a woman suffered possibly serious injuries in a crash on a narrow bridge near  Wadebidge.
