Bath pub closed for filming of ITV’s detective drama ‘Invisible’

A Bath pub is closed today as film crews take over to capture scenes for ITV's new detective drama Invisible. A spokesman for the Bell Inn on Walcot Street has apologised to its regulars, but admitted that staff are "very excited." Signs of the filming are obvious with a large film and TV lighting truck parked outside.

But with the windows completely concealed by black drapes, there is little hope of spotting the stars in action.

Film crews outside the pub on Walcot Street

Mammoth Screen, the producer behind Victoria and Poldark, is filming two-feature length films based in modern Bath. Invisible stars The Crown's Jason Watkins and Cold Feet's Tala Gouveia. The film crew arrived at the pub at 7am this morning (October 9) and will be finished by 6pm.

This is just the latest location where filming for the Bath-based drama has been spotted

A Bell Inn spokesman said: "We are obviously very excited to have the film crew in today.

"As well as being good for the pub, hopefully it will also be good promotion for all of Walcot Street. "Our apologies to any customers who couldn't get in this afternoon - with a special apology to our 5pm regulars." The Bell is just the latest filming location for Invisible , after crews have been spotted at Lansdown Crescent, Parade Gardens, Abbey Churchyard and Ralph Allen School, in recent weeks.

Meanwhile a period drama Bridgerton, starring Julie Andrews, is also being filmed in Bath.
