Live updates as A614 Boothferry Road in Howden blocked by lorry

A large HGV blocked a major route from Howden to Goole on Wednesday morning. The blue and white lorry was stuck across the westbound carriageway of the A614 Boothferry Road (A614) as traffic officers help direct the flow of traffic. The incident, which happened around 8am on Wednesday, caused slow traffic around the Howden junction on the A614 outside the Image Data group building.

It was cleared within three hours of the accident this morning. Hull Live understands the lorry had attempted a U-turn across the road and became wedged on the footpath. One motorist said at the time: “It did look like there had been a major crash, but it turned out it was just a lorry turning around.

Drivers were forced to turn around, I don’t know if it’s got stuck trying to turn around or what.” Humberside Police attended the scene and below
