Police launch dashcam footage appeal as two women fight for their lives after car and HGV collide

Police are appealing for dashcom footage of a horrific crash which has left two elderly women fighting for their lives. Two pensioners today remain in a critical condition after their blue Honda 4×4 car collided with a white Volvo articulated HGV yesterday (October 9). The 79-year-old driver was airlifted to hospital, while her 80-year-old passenger was taken via an ambulance.

Now officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward as a major investigation into watch caused the smash on the A534 Wrexham Road in Burland, near Nantwich at 3pm continues. Police Constable Iain Condliffe, of Cheshire Constabulary’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Two elderly women sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and are currently in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

“We are determined to establish exactly what happened and I urge anyone who witnessed the incident or anything else that may aid our investigation to contact the team here at the Serious Collison Investigation Unit. “The same goes for anyone who believes they have dashcam footage that may be relevant to the investigation.”
