17 small but beautiful Christmas markets coming to Liverpool

Christmas is around the corner and festive markets offer a great way to enjoy the midwinter. They are a great way to get together with family and friends and there is something for everyone. Rare and unique gifts are on offer, along with interesting food stalls, grottos for the kids, holistic well-being treatments and much, much more.

Liverpool’s popular Christmas Market makes its return to St George’s Hall – and there is a huge wheel to enjoy there, too – but there are also many other venues holding festive markets. Here are some of the many Christmas Markets taking place on Merseyside …

Liverpool Christmas Farmers Market

Some of the best local producers will assemble in one room.

On offer will be fresh bagels, cheese, bread, local honey, dog treats, pies and more. This will sit alongside the permanent street food market where some of the best and most interesting food stalls will be available to see.
Note that although the farmers market ends at 4pm the market is open until 9pm with food on until 7pm. Entry is free and it will be child-friendly and dog-friendly.

Bishop Martin School Christmas Fayre

There will be a Santa’s Grotto, LFC Hospitality Raffle, Tombola, Games and Toys, Cakes, Hot Food and Drinks, Tuck Shop. And much more.

Where: Bishop Martin School C.E. School When: November 30 from 12pm to 3pm, Bishop Martin School

Halewood Christmas market 

There will be local stall holders, unique handmade gifts, food and drink, and raffle prizes

All funds raised go toward St Nicholas Centre, Halewood. Where: Hollies Hall When: Saturday, November 23 between 1pm and 3pm.

Christmas at Baltic Market 

From December 1 onwards this will be open five days a week. Wednesdays and Thursdays it will be open from 5pm to 11pm, Friday it is open from 12pm to midnight, Saturday it is open 11am to midnight and Sunday 11am to 9pm. It will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and every Monday and Tuesday throughout December.

Bishop Eton school

There will be tombolas, raffle, mince pies, Santa’s Grotto, face-painting, bar, craft corner, mulled wine, gift stalls, Child of Sparrow Interiors, and efytastic interiors. Where: Our Lady’s Bishop Eton School, Green Lane, Liverpool, L18 2EP

When: Sunday, December 8 between 1pm and 4pm.

Hunts Cross Christmas Craft Fayre

Go along to this festive Christmas Craft Fair and pick up some lovely handmade gifts. Where: St Columbus Church Hall Craft Fayre When: Saturday December 14 from 10am to 2pm

Bluebell’s Christmas Gift, Craft and Local Produce Fayre

The Bluebell Team welcomes you to our Festive Christmas Fayre.

There is always a little something for everyone at Bluebell’s. There will be a host of locally independent businesses showcasing their stunning stalls of all gifts, crafts and local produce. There is a holistic well-being room with two fully qualified therapists available.

Christmas Market at Pier Head Liverpool

One of the city’s biggest festive attractions is coming back. There will be a Christmas Ice Festival, which also boasts a Christmas market, at Pier Head Liverpool. You will find ice skating, an ice slide, fairground rides and games.

And there will be lots of food and drink available. Where: Pier Head, Liverpool When: November 9, 2019 to January 5, 2020 (excluding Christmas Day)

Wirral Christmas Craft Fayre Hoylake Parade Community Centre

At this Christmas Craft Fayre there will be more than 30 local stalls.

They will be showcasing handcrafted, handmade, local gifts for the perfect presents this Christmas. Where: Hoylake Community Centre, Hoyle Road, CH47 3AG When: Saturday, November 30 from 12 midday to 4pm

Wirral Christmas Craft Fayre Neston Civic Hall

On offer at this Christmas Craft Fayre are the finest local artisans with stalls such as plants, candles, ceramics and many more. Where: Sunday, November 24 from 12 midday to 4pm When: Neston Civic Hall, Neston, CH64 9PE

Wirral Christmas Craft Fayre Thornton Hough Village Hall

There will be stalls such as plants, candles, ceramics and much more available.

This is expected to be a beautiful event to stir up some Christmas vibes in the picturesque setting of Churchtown. You can buy unique gifts for loved ones.

Where: Botanic Road, Southport When: Friday, December 6 2019 at 2pm until 8pm.

Aintree Christmas Market

The increasingly popular Aintree Christmas Market is back for its third year.
More than 50 local businesses trade each day. There will be fair rides and a food truck.

Where: Aintree Racecourse When: November 30 at 11am to December 1 at 4pm.

Indoor Christmas Fayre

Go to the Indoor Christmas Fayre at Willowbrook – The Living Well on Saturday, December 7 between 11am to 3pm. There will be a range of stalls selling everything from sweets and chocolate, homemade crafts and toiletries to books and Christmas wreaths.

There will also be tombola, raffles and children’s games. And you can visit the Winter Wonderland and Santa’s Grotto – entry charge GBP5 for grotto. Where: Borough Road, St Helens, WA10 3RN
