A DOG walker was “seriously injured” after being hit by a truck in Edinburgh – as his pet tragically died. Emergency services were called to the scene just before 5pm after the alarm was raised.

And Police Scotland confirmed that the man was rushed to hospital after being seriously hurt in the collision which killed his pet. A spokesperson said: “About 4.55pm police received a report of a man having been struck by a vehicle on Constorphine High Street.
