'Holidays are coming'

This time last year, the iconic red Coca Cola trucks were out and about in the UK – though unfortunately much to everyone’s disappointment, not in Stoke-on-Trent. With their popular slogan ‘Holidays are Coming’ the trucks been visited thousands of times over the years and have become Christmassy icons since they were launched on TV in 1995. Now Coke has confirmed the truck – which brings Christmas cheer and free Coca Cola to cities across the country, will be back.

In a post on the site a company spokesman said: “Holidays are Coming…  soon!

The iconic Coca-Cola Christmas truck tour will shortly be back for 2019, spreading holiday magic across UK! Details will be revealed very soon…” Now in its ninth year, the tour which has everyone in a festive tizz, will visit towns and cities up and down the UK over the Christmas season.

At first the trucks were just seen in adverts at Christmas across the UK, but then they broke out of the screen for the annual Christmas Truck Tour.

The Coca-Cola Christmas trucks were created by agency W.B. Doner for a new seasonal advertising campaign in 1995 and tours the UK each year stopping at different cities and towns. At each stop, fans can take project festive selfies across the side of the vehicle whilst enjoying a 150ml can of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Diet Coke or Coca-Cola Classic in a ‘winter wonderland’ setting.

Stoke-on-Trent has been snubbed for the last couple of years – so here’s hoping we will be on the festive list this year.
