Home Bargains lorry 'crashed into bridge' before police closed road

A Home Bargains lorry reportedly crashed into a bridge leaving a road blocked to cars and buses. Police were called to Woodchurch Road, in Birkenhead , shortly after 7pm to reports that a large vehicle had crashed into a railway bridge near the ASDA supermarket. It is believed that the lorry drove under the bridge before crashing, leaving debris from the lorry and bridge lying in the road.

The lorry did not get stuck, as images on social media show it parked at the side of the road after the crash, but parts of the roof could be seen in images taken of the incident.
