Recap: Lorry fire causes closure of A55 westbound on Anglesey

A lorry fire has led to the closure of a section of the A55 on Anglesey. The HGV blaze has caused the closure of the westbound carriageway of the road between Llangefni and Valley, with motorists being diverted around the scene. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2.30am, with three fire engines attending.

The A55 was initially closed in both directions, before the eastbound carriageway was re-opened just after 5am. One fire engine remains on the scene, although the blaze is now out, and motorists are being warned that the closure is set to remain in place for some time. Nobody has been hurt as a result of the fire.
