Cyclist in hospital after crash which shut A470

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car. Police and paramedics were called to the A470 in Llanrhos[1] ,near Llandudno at around noon today (January 17). The road was closed between Marl Lane roundabout and Gloddaeth Lane roundabout as emergency crews worked at the scene.

Motorists were urged to avoid the area, with police officers directing traffic away from area. One person, believed to be the cyclist, was taken to hospital - but their condition is not known.

A Welsh Ambulance Service[2] spokesperson said: "We were called on Friday 17 January at approximately 11:58 am to reports of a collision between a car and a bicycle on the A470 near Llanrhos.

Recovery truck at scene of A470 crash

A recovery truck was spotted at the scene following the accident.

There were long delays following the collision with motorists reporting that traffic was queuing on all approaches to the Gloddaeth Lane roundabout.

The road was closed for around 90 minutes and the road re-opened at around 1.45pm.
