This is the moment a farmer’s truck is smashed by a passenger train after it gets stuck on a level crossing.

Footage shows good Samaritans rushing forward and trying to help push the vehicle as the train approaches in Nakhon Pathom, central Thailand.

However, it’s no use. As the barriers come down they are all forced to stand back and watch the locomotive slam into the stranded vehicle.

CCTV footage from Wednesday night shows the truck trundle onto the level crossing before becoming rooted to the spot.

Drivers go past, refusing to offer assistance, but when a group of cyclists come they stop to help push the vehicle.

But it is of no use. They all have to step back as the barriers close and watch a train slam into the car.

The tow truck arrived 60 seconds later

Sugar cane farmer Pitak Tabsuk, 35, was driving the vehicle home after harvest when the accident happened.

‘I always drive over this level crossing but this time the back wheel was stuck in a gap between the tracks and the ground,’ he said.
