A30 closed due to spilled load of mud and rocks

A stretch of the A30 in Devon heading towards Cornwall has been closed this afternoon - because a truck has spilled mud and rocks across the carrageway. Roads and traffic monitoring service Inrix first reported the incident, between Fingle Glen and Whiddon Down, at 1.18pm. In an update at 2:01pm, Inrix wrote: "A30 Westbound closed, queueing traffic due to rocks and mud on road from A30 (Fingle Glen, Tedburn St Mary) to A382 (Whiddon Down, Whiddon Down).

A tipper lorry has spilt mud and rocks in the cariageway. "Road has been closed for clean up work. Affecting traffic heading towards Okehampton."
