First picture shows overturned truck debris on the M2 near Chatham

The M2 has suffered long queues and delays today (February 6) after a truck overturned and shed its load. The incident is reported to have happened at around 11am today (February 6) between junctions 2 and 3 of the Londonbound carriageway near Chatham and Gillingham. Highways England has warned of long delays spanning 30 minutes, but this could be set to increase.

AA Traffic says queues are stretching back for four miles and that a truck has shed some plant equipment.

A spokesman for the authority said: “This closure is due to a road traffic collision which has resulted in a vehicle becoming overturned across the carriageway.
