Hit-and-run transport truck driver that struck Cambridge woman found

Waterloo Region police have laid charges after locating a transport truck driver who struck a pedestrian back on Jan.

10. The incident occurred at approximately 2:35 p.m., in the area of Gateway Park Drive and Sportsworld Drive in Kitchener, when the truck struck a pedestrian in a wheelchair at the crosswalk.

The pedestrian, a 63-year-old Cambridge woman, was taken to hospital and was treated for minor injuries. The truck failed to remain at the scene of the collision.

After a thorough investigation, assisted by many helpful tips from members of the public, police say the driver of the truck was located.

A 33-year-old London man has been charged with careless driving and failure to remain at the scene.
