M5 police shocked by drink-drive lorry driver
SHOCKED police stopped a lorry on the M5 whose driver was more than four times over the legal alcohol limit. He was stopped yesterday (Friday) at junction 8, where the M50 through Herefordshire meets the M5, after concerned people alerted police about his driving. A breath test revealed he had 150 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35. Later, Hereford CID said in a social media post: “Anyone who holds themselves out as a professional driver and then drives 44 tonnes of HGV on a motorway before blowing 150 roadside should be jailed immediately and banned from driving for life. “No excuses.
Thankfully, that’s another moron off the road.”
