Truck driver taken to hospital following tractor-trailer crash in Ted Williams Tunnel

A truck driver was taken to Tufts Medical Center on Wednesday after his tractor-trailer crashed in the Ted Williams Tunnel, according to State police. The crash occurred at 1:22 p.m. on the D-ramp from the westbound side of the tunnel to Interstate 93 South. State Police spokesman David Procopio said the tractor-trailer hit the front end of the barrier dividing the exits from the main highway line, and that the driver was trapped in the truck before being removed by Boston Fire.

The severity of his injuries has not yet been released. Procopio said the truck is a 2015 Kenworth T800 owned by ADM Management Corp. Police remain on scene as Mass DOT has responded to repair the barrier.
