Man arrested after being found in back of a lorry at a Cambridge business park

A man has been arrested after he was found in the back of a lorry at a Cambridge business park. Police and the ambulance service attended the incident at Storebox in Swann Road, just off Newmarket Road in Cambridge this afternoon (Wednesday, March 11). The were called the the scene at about 1pm after receiving reports of noises coming from the back of a HGV unit.

One man was found in the back of the vehicle and was arrested on suspicion on immigration offences. He was not injured during the incident. A Cambridgeshire Police spokesman said: “We were called just before 1pm today (March 11) with reports of concern following noises coming from the back of a lorry at a storage unit in Swann Road, Cambridge.

“Officers attended with the ambulance service.

One man was found in the back of the HGV and arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.

He was uninjured”.
