Road blocked after truck topples on B2116 in Albourne

A ROAD is blocked after a large lorry tipped onto its side. The truck toppled onto the grass verge and into a hedge to the side of the B2116 in Albourne. Police and recovery vehicles are on the scene.

Sergeant Richard Hobbs was one of the officers in attendance. He provided an update on the situation for drivers via social media with a picture of the scene. He said: “If you’ve been delayed travelling along the B2116 in Albourne today, here’s the reason why.

“Two of my team have been sorting it’s recovery. Thanks for your patience.” An AA spokesman said the incident was first reported shortly before 11.30am.

He said: “The road is blocked due to a rolled over truck and recovery work on the B2116 Albourne Road both ways from Albourne Primary School to The Wheatsheaf Pub.”

Sussex Police said there had been no injuries in the incident, which was a “single vehicle collision”.

It has since been reported that the road has been cleared.
