Three people in hospital after crash

Three people have been taken to hospital following a crash in Cornwall this afternoon, police have confirmed. Emergency services were called to the A3075, just after Chiverton Cross Roundabout, following a collision involving three vehicles shortly after 12pm. Pictures from the scene show one car was badly damaged and a truck ended up on its side.

This afternoon a spokesperson from Devon and Cornwall Police said no-one is believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police have been called to a RTC involving three vehicles at around 12.10pm this afternoon between Chiverton Cross and Newquay on the A3075. “Road closures were put in place in both directions. “Three people require hospital treatment.”

The truck overturned

They later added: “Two female occupants of one of the vehicles have recently been extricated and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“A male from another vehicle has already been taken to hospital with an injury to his ear.”

Firefighters attended, alongside police officers and paramedics, to help get the casualties out of the vehicle.

At 2.15pm, the road remained closed.
