M6 closed at Spaghetti Junction on Friday after lorry crashes and lands on its side
The M6 is closed in Birmingham after a lorry overturned onto the carriageway. The northbound side of the motorway at Junction 6 Spaghetti Junction was completely shut on Friday morning (April 17). It followed an accident which saw an HGV topple over and land on its side. The stricken lorry is now blocking the northbound carriageway at that junction.

Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) tweeted a picture of the scene, and warned drivers to avoid the area.
They posted: “M6 NB J6 toward Salford Circus is currently closed due to RTC whereby a HGV is on its side completely blocking the carriageway. Please avoid the area.” Highways England officers are also on the scene and said they were working hard to clear it as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, traffic is asked to find an alternative route. They tweeted: “M6 northbound to the A38 Gravelly Hill Erdington Island is closed due to an overturned HGV. “Traffic officers are making to scene to assess and we will endeavour to clear as soon as possible.
Please find an alternative route to access J6 Island.”
