A1M traffic as crash shuts road

The A1M northbound is shut due to an accident on the way to Stevenage. Emergency services were called shortly after 7am this morning (Wednesday, May 13) following reports of an accident on the motorway. Officers from the Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Cambridge Road Policing attended the incident between junction six and seven.

Police have temporarily shut the road to sweep away debris and glass.

All lanes are blocked on the road between Welwyn and Stevenage, and the debris can be seen strewn across the middle of the two lanes. The officers from Beds, Herts and Cambs say another vehicle hit a trailer carrying a quad bike and it has now been moved to the side of the road. Traffic officers are currently on scene, and no one was injured in the incident.
