Ford Ranger Thunder 2020: first look at Ford's special edition pick-up truck reimagined

With an RRP of GBP32,965 (excluding VAT), the Ranger Thunder is based on the Ranger Wildtrak series and Ford says it combines high specification, optimised load-hauling and tough four-wheel drive capability with 'an edgier look'.

Powered by Ford's bi-turbo 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine and paired with the same 10-speed automatic transmission used across much of the Ford performance range, it's the familiar Ranger recipe under the bonnet, but Ford hopes it will win fans with its distinctive appearance. The double cab Ranger load-bed length is 1.5 metres and it can carry a maximum payload of 1,217kg
