Live M1 updates as serious lorry crash completely shuts road near Luton

The M1 is currently closed after a serious crash on the motorway. The incident happened at around 3.50pm between junction 10 (A1081) and junction 11 (A505) on the northbound carriageway (Saturday, May 23). Officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit rushed to the scene and immediately closed all the northbound lanes.

A lorry and car were reportedly involved in the crash.

Traffic heading southbound currently remains unaffected.

Bedfordshire Police and the East of England Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
