Lockdown bust-up at country park sees woman arrested and told to 'sober up' in cell

Police were forced to intervene after a bust-up at a country park on the first weekend of lockdown easing. Officers were called to a disturbance at Highgate Common in Swindon, south Staffordshire, on Saturday afternoon, May 16 as visitors enjoyed the unlimited time outdoors. A woman was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Staffordshire Police said.

She failed a breath test, they said, and was taken into police custody after the incident.
