M25 reopens at Reigate following ‘serious crash’ between lorry and car – live updates
The M25 clockwise has reopened after being blocked at Reigate following a serious crash between a car and lorry. The collision took place close to Junction 8 (A217 Brighton Road) at around 6.15am on Friday (May 8). All emergency services were in attendance at the scene, with traffic having to be diverted from the incident.
Highways England tweeted: “There has been a serious incident on the main carriageway. Traffic has been stopped and we are diverting traffic away from scene. Traffic officers, Surrey Police & Surrey Fire and Rescue Service are at scene.
Approach with caution and follow diversion please.” INRIX, the traffic and travel service, added: “M25 clockwise blocked, queueing traffic due to serious accident, car and lorry involved at J8 A217 Brighton Road (Reigate). Congestion to J7 M23.
The road has been blocked since 6.15am, trapped traffic is being turned around.”
