NSW truck driver charged with dangerous driving after dashcam footage was posted online
A truck driver has been charged after dashcam video emerged of a dangerous driving incident involving a ute on a NSW highway. Video posted to social media showed the ute and truck both travelling in the right southbound lane of the Hume Highway, Menangle on Saturday about 6.45am. In the video, the white ute approaches the rear of the truck from the far-right lane, which appears to be a rest lane.

It then appears to attempt to overtake the truck, which can be seen veering into that same lane, preventing the ute from passing.
Another larger truck is travelling in the left lane next to the small truck which is swerving between the right lane and rest lane. The ute then appears to accelerate to try and overtake the smaller truck in the rest lane. The small truck appears to continue blocking the ute from passing in the rest lane, then the dashcam footage cuts out.
Yesterday afternoon, the 47-year-old driver of the truck went to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command headquarters in Huntingwood.
The man will be issued a Court Attendance Notice for drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous and will be expected to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on August 4.
Inquiries are continuing to locate the ute driver.
