Investigators say that the truck driver fled the scene after the crash. The 40 year old female driver of the Ford Fiesta was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say that the they found a semi truck that they believe to have been involved in the crash parked in the downtown San Antonio area. Images captured at the scene show that the truck had heavy front end damage. Police said that the truck still had part of the victim's car attached to it.

Police found a man asleep in the bunk area of the truck but say that this person is not believed to be the driver. The man told police that he felt something but didn't think anything of it because the truck didn't stop. The man is reportedly cooperating with police.

Authorities are still looking for the truck driver, who they say is now facing serious charges. The suspect is described as a black male with short dreadlocks who is around 6'2? wearing a burgundy shirt and grey pants. Both men in the truck are from California, police say.

Police say that they have contacted the trucking company. The incident shut down several lanes of I-10 for the morning rush hour, but as of 9:30 a.m., at least one lane had reopened. Police are seeking surveillance video to aid in the investigation.
