Staffordshire Police using unmarked HGV to spot drivers flouting laws on A50, A500 and A34

Police are using an unmarked HGV to catch drivers flouting the law today on North Staffordshire's roads. Officers have already spotted a white van driver using his mobile phone while patrolling the A50, A500 and A34 today (May 22). Staffordshire Police Road Policing Unit (RPU) say the driver will be stopped and reported for the offence.

A Staffs Police RPU spokesman said: "Utilising the unmarked HGV & police vehicles today - patrolling the A50, A500 & A34. "This white van driver has just been sighted using his mobile phone. Driver will be stopped & reported for the offence.

6 points & GBP200 fine."
