Teenage girl killed and two injured after Vauxhall Corsa collides with parked HGV in Sandbach

Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a young woman following a collision in the early hours of this morning (June 13). Emergency services were called to the scene on the A534 Haslington bypass, between Crewe and Sandbach, at around 12.20am. According to police, a black Vauxhall Corsa collided with an HGV parked in a lay-by at the Wheelock end of the bypass.

An 18-year-old woman, a passenger in the car, was killed and pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were injured in the incident, including a 17-year-old woman who was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-changing injuries.

The driver, a 17-year-old male, has been arrested following the incident. A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary said: “Sadly, one of the passengers, an 18-year-old local woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Another 17-year-old woman has been taken to hospital with serious, but not life-changing, injuries, while a further passenger received minor injuries.

“The driver, a 17-year-old male, has been arrested in connection with the incident.”
