Truck driver and two girls taken to hospital after head-on crash in Walsall

Emergency services attended the crash in Bentley Lane where they found four patients after the incident at around 10.25am on Friday. The flat-bed truck driver, a man, managed to himself out of the vehicle and is not thought to have been seriously injured. One girl from the other vehicle, which contained a man and two girls, had to be freed by firefighters.

A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Three ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene. "On arrival we discovered a car and a truck that had both suffered front-end damage in the collision." Both youngsters, whose ages have not been confirmed, were taken to Walsall Manor Hospital after being treated for minor injuries.

The truck driver was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital for further assessment, with the other man being discharged at the scene.
