Group walk out of Newquay restaurant without paying £171 bill

Police are investigating after a group of people racked up a large bill at a Newquay restaurant before walking out of the front door without paying. The group, described as a family of eight to ten people, entered the Senor Dick's Mexican Restaurant on East Street in the town at around 9pm on Tuesday (July 28), staff members said. They added that the group then dined on food and drinks worth GBP171, before fleeing at 10.30pm.

According to eyewitnesses, the group was confronted outside the restaurant before leaving the scene in a car and a large pick-up truck with tree logs in the back. Restaurant owner Richard Taylor said that the incident has been reported to police, adding that he wishes to warn other businesses in the area so that something similar doesn't happen to them. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that the incident is being investigated.
