Heartbroken family prepare for funeral of Congleton teen who died in HGV crash
The funeral of a 17-year-old who died in a HGV crash in Cheshire takes place this week. Georgia Ogden, from Congleton, sadly passed away after the car she was travelling in crashed into an HGV on the A34 in Astbury in the early hours of June 25. Two other girls, aged 17 and 18, who were also in the car, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and they were taken to the Royal Stoke for further treatment.
Her grieving family and friends are preparing for her funeral tomorrow (Friday July 17) which will take place in Northwich. In an obituary notice her parents, Mandy and Mark, who live in Congleton, have led tributes to their daughter.
It reads: “Georgia was taken tragically on June 25 2020 aged just 17, she was surrounded at the hospital by her loving family. “An adored daughter of Mandy and Mark, a much loved sister to Josh and cherished granddaughter to Norman and Trudy, and Christine and Arthur.
“Georgia was sassy, funny and a real entertainer, she loved to be the centre of attention and randomly burst into song, dance or an accent.

“She had an absolute heart of gold and her relatives, friends and dance family meant the world to her. “She would instantly light up a room with her bubbly personality and her infectious smile. “Everyone effected by Georgia’s death is truly heart-broken and she will be greatly missed by all that were blessed to know her.
“The funeral service will be a celebration of her life. Her service will take place at Birches Crematorium, Northwich on Friday, July 17 at 1pm.

Close family and friends are invited to attend. The obituary notice continues: “No formal funeral dress code is required, the brighter the better.
“The family are truly grateful for all the kind messages of condolences, cards and flowers that have been sent in Georgia’s memory. “We request that instead of flowers, donations can be made to support Bliss and Visyon.” Cheshire Constabulary are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the tragedy.
