Truck Makers Parry UK Damages Claim In Cartel Suit

Law360, London (July 7, 2020, 5:10 PM BST) — Fiat Chrysler and Italian truck maker Iveco have refused to admit that they’ll owe a rival automaker compensation should a London court award damages in the wake of a massive price-fixing scandal that allegedly stuck businesses and consumers with inflated costs.

The automakers did not expressly deny in their June 23 defense that they might owe DAF Trucks NV compensation as part of British construction giant Balfour Beatty’s lawsuit against more than a dozen companies that admitted to conspiring to set truck prices.
