The air ambulance was in attendance and transported the woman to Hull Royal Infirmary. It is not known how many other people have been injured, or were involved in the collision. Road engineers are spreading absorbent material across the road because of the spillage of fuel and oil and the two vehicles have been hoisted onto a recovery truck.

Investigators expect the road to reopen at about 9pm.
