Police statement after A1033 lorry crash shuts road

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a lorry and a car on a rural East Yorkshire road. Humberside Police closed the A1033 near Patrington, Holderness, for three hours on Friday morning (August 28) when a black Vauxhall Insignia and a lorry collided. It is believed the accident occurred on the S bend of Winestead Lane and involved a Tesco goods vehicle.

A man suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries as a result of the accident. A police spokesman said: “A man has been taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious but none life-threatening injuries following a collision on Winestead Lane, Patrington, this morning. “We were called at 6.20am by the ambulance service, who were treating the driver of a black Vauxhall Insignia which had collided with a lorry.

“The road was initially closed but has now been fully reopened.”

Following a recovery of both vehicles police fully reopened the road at around 9.30am.
