VW Golf involved in 'multiple offences' on A444 finally seized by cops

A Volkswagen Golf driver involved in “multiple offences” on the A444 has been caught by police. The dark blue Golf had been spotted speeding on the busy road multiple times before the officers caught up with the driver. On one occasion it hit speeds of 54mph in a 30mph area.

It was stopped by police on Woodville Road, Overseal, yesterday, Tuesday, August 18. Officers found that the speeding driver in fact had no driving licence or insurance so should not have been on the road in the first place. The Swadlincote Police Safer Neighbourhood Team, an arm of Derbyshire police, shared a picture on social media of the Golf on the back of a Burrows recovery truck, adding that the driver has now been reported for the offences.
