Walker's 'dangerously parked' car towed away as Snowdonia crackdown continues

A “dangerously parked” car has been towed away as police continue to crack down on illegal parking. The motorist now faces a long walk home and a potential bill after parking dangerously on the A5 in Ogwen Valley on Saturday afternoon. A picture released by police showed the moment a towing truck began taking the vehicle away.

And they have now warned that more illegally parked vehicles could soon be removed. On Facebook, police said: “We have just recovered one dangerously parked car, A5 Ogwen Valley. “Gwynedd highways enforcement are en route to deal with other illegally parked vehicles.”

Travel bosses have already warned that most of the car parks supporting Snowdonia are already full today.

There have been repeated calls for action against badly parked vehicles in the area and North Wales Police and traffic officials are taking a tough approach following chaotic scenes in other parts of Snowdonia in recent weeks.

Last week, an Audi was removed from the same road after being found to be parked illegally, and a camper van was also removed.

In total, seven vehicles were recovered last Saturday.
