Armed police help stop truck carrying suspected stolen shipping container on M4

Armed officers helped Thames Valley Police stop a vehicle on the M4. On September 24 the huge vehicle was stopped on the motorway at night and two people were arrested. They were arrested on suspicion of stealing a yellow shipping container – which can be seen in the photos on the rear of the vehicle.

The shipping container is worth around GBP10,000 according to the police. Posting on Facebook Thames Valley Police said the following: “Last night, this was stopped on the M4 by our TVP Roads Policing officers, who were assisted by our JOU Armed Officers. “Two people were arrested on suspicion of stealing the yellow shipping container on the rear, worth about GBP10,000.

“The truck was seized and there was also no disc in the analogue tachometer reader either.

Good job by our officers!”

At this stage it’s not clear if the two people have been remanded in custody, charged or released pending further investigation.
