Buckden St Neots news: Police issue update as four people taken into custody in quiet Cambs village

Police have issued an update on an incident which sparked a heavy police presence in a quiet Cambridgeshire village. A number of police vehicles, including five cars and three vans were spotted parked in the car park for the shops in Hunts End in Buckden, St Neots, Cambridgeshire, this afternoon (September 13). The shops are not related to the investigation.

At the time of the incident a witness reported seeing a truck pull up quickly on the pavement and a man run off from officers. He added that he also saw police put a man in handcuffs. Police have confirmed that four people they believe are involved in the incident remain in custody and are being interviewed.

A spokesman for the local force have now issued an official statement outlining more information on the nature of the incident.

He said: "Just after 3pm today (September 13) officers identified a vehicle that they wanted to stop. "The vehicle then failed to stop and rolled into another vehicle which some people reported to police. "A short distance away we have located four people we believe are involved in that incident.

"They are in custody and are currently being interviewed in relation to the matter."
