Cyclist has lucky escape after collision involving HGV on busy stretch of road

A cyclist only suffered minor injuries after a collision involving a lorry on a busy Teesside Road. Emergency services were called to Huntsman Drive, in Port Clarence on Friday. The collision involving the man on a pedal cycle and a HGV happened at around 2.20pm.

An ambulance crew also attended the scene. A spokeswoman for the North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 2.43pm to an RTC involving a cyclist and a lorry. “We dispatched a rapid response paramedic before treating and discharging the cyclist on scene.

“He had minor injuries.”
