Appeal over HGV driver's careless driving

OFFICERS have made an appeal for witnesses after a report of careless driving. Dumfries Galloway Police Division said the incident happened Tuesday night, on the A75 between Annan and Castle Douglas. A spokesman for the force said: “We’re appealing for witnesses after a report that a Red Mercedes HGV, operating for Montgomery Distribution, was driving carelessly on the A75, between Annan and Castle Douglas, about 9.45 pm on Tuesday night.

“If you have any information or Dashcam footage that may assist officers with their enquiries, please phone us.” Last month the force warned that motorists were being flagged down by people in the Gretna area, who claimed their car had broken down and then asking for money. Officers seized one of the vehicles suspected to be involved however a Blue Volkswagen Passat displaying a foreign registration plate remained outstanding.
