Casualty with head injuries cut from car as serious accident shuts A46

A serious accident closed the A46 southbound at Seagrave earlier today. The crash happened at 11.55am and involved two cars. One person was taken to hospital but their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Police said in a tweet at 12.20pm today: “A46 Southbound at Seagrave including the slip road, the road is closed due to a serious accident, please avoid the area and find an alternative route, thank you.” Updates on the A46 incident are below.
