DPD make history with five road transport ‘Oscars’

DPD made history at the Motor Transport Awards, beating off stiff competition to scoop five trophies at this year’s road transport ‘Oscars’, held for the first time as a virtual event. The awards celebrate outstanding achievement in the industry and recognise innovation, customer service, efficiency and quality. They are judged by an independent panel of experts drawn from the industry.

For the first time in the award’s 34 year history, the winners were announced via a special online broadcast, hosted by Motor Transport editor Steve Hobson, with the help of Alan Dedicoat, the “Voice of the Balls” on the BBC’s National Lottery programmes. DPD became the first company to win five awards in one night, on two occasions, having also scooped five in 2015.  The company also became the all-time most-honoured brand in the history of the awards, with this year’s haul taking DPD’s total tally of Motor Transport Awards to 34 wins, one more than previous record-holder TNT. DPD, who have now won 14 Motor Transport Awards in the last five years, were also the only parcel company to bring home an award from this year’s event.

With this year’s competition attracting more entries than ever before, DPD topped the following categories: Customer Care (for the fourth time in five years) Home Delivery Operator (for the fourth time in five years)

Best use of Technology Clean Fleet Van Operator Urban Delivery Operator
