Truck driver airlifted to hospital after fiery Turnpike crash

A truck driver was airlifted to a hospital for serious injuries following a fiery crash on the New Jersey Turnpike, state police said.

The driver of the truck struck the guardrail around 1:13 p.m. at milepost 97 in Linden on the outer roadway, police said.

The truck caught on fire, according to 511nj.org.

The right lane of the inner roadway and left lane of the outer roadway are currently closed for the accident investigation, police said.
