21, 2020. Two adults and a student were hospitalized Wednesday morning after a Washingtonville Central School District bus was struck in New Windsor.

Michael Farbent, Town of New Windsor deputy police chief, said in a statement that a commercial tree service truck was driving westbound on Route 207 when the vehicle crossed the line into the eastbound lane and hit the bus.  The driver of the work truck, the bus driver and a girl were transported to a local hospital for their injuries. The drivers are in critical condition, he said, while the girl is in critical but stable condition.

No names were available as of 12:20 p.m.  There were eight students on the bus. Seven of them walked off and were treated and released from a hospital, Farbent said.

The crash remains under investigation.  Nancy Kriz, district spokeswoman, said in a release that Superintendent Larry Washington and Principal Sagrario Rudecindo-O’Neil were at the hospital with parents and other staff.  “A crisis support team is onsite at Little Britain Elementary to assist students, faculty and staff,” Kriz said. “The district is very grateful for the rapid and professional response from all emergency service providers.

Updates will be provided as needed.” All parents were notified that a Little Britain Elementary School bus was involved.  New Paltz cop whose rap offended LGBTQ community will keep his job
