£2.7m upgrade for Scania dealership – Lancashire Business View

Haydock Commercial Vehicles has invested in GBP2.7m in a new service centre adjacent to its Scania dealership at Walton Summit, Preston. The 34 Preston Scania staff, including 16 technicians, provide a full range of services, including new and used vehicle sales, and all-makes servicing and parts. The premises feature seven 28m workshop bays with three 22m pits, with a door height of 5m allowing access for trailers and double-deck buses.

Equipped with new brake rollers, tachograph calibration equipment and a range of special tools, the premises feature LED lighting throughout. The old workshop will now be demolished to further extend the site’s secure truck, trailer, bus and coach parking area. When complete, the new site will occupy 2.5 acres of prime commercial land close to Junction 29 of the M6 and within a mile of the intersection of the M61 and M65 motorways.

Simon Dykes, chairman of Haydock Commercial Vehicles, said: “Preston Scania has long been a key site for us, and our success in the area has necessitated this development.

The new facility is the latest step up for us, following on from the opening of our flagship Warrington site two years ago, and reinforces our long-term commitment to the area’s transport operators and our position at the leading-edge of commercial vehicle service in the North West.”
