Last day of filming on ITV series Grace in Sussex

FILMING for the first series of an ITV crime drama is almost done. Crews have been spotted at locations all over Sussex since mid September, when production began on the TV adaptation of Peter James’ Roy Grace novels. Grace, which is based on the Sussex author’s first two books, Dead Simple and Looking Dead Good, has been shot at various sites in the county.

In a tweet yesterday, Mr Murray-Smith thanked the cast for “fun times on a magic shoot”. In turn, author Peter James showed his appreciation for the producer on Twitter, and thanked him for his “passion for Brighton and Hove showing through so much in the production”.

And a huge thanks to you, Kiaran, for being such a brilliant producer and for your passion for Brighton and Hove showing through so much in the production. https://t.co/smNv2iQSNU

Last week, dozens of masked cast and crew were seen in Silverdale Road in Hove to film a hit and run crash scene for the series. Actress Amanda Okafor, who plays DC Emma Jane Boutwood, could be seen getting out of a police car and approaching a pick-up truck.

John Simm, who stars in the lead role as Detective Roy Grace, has been spotted in locations across Brighton.   In September, the actor was seen shooting a scene in Sydney Street in the North Laine District, surrounded by a small crowd of extras.  A month later, the actor was spotted filming in a seafront shelter in Western Esplanade, Hove.

Woodingdean and Shoreham Port have also been used as filming locations.

The series is due to hit the small screen early next year, with a date due to be confirmed.
